About the Principal

Byron R. Dixon is the principal of Octavius V. Catto Community Family School. Catto serves students in grades Pre-K-8. The school is equipped a computer (PC and Mac) and distance learning labs and SMARTboards in all classrooms. Catto school shares its structure and is partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Camden County. 


Principal Dixon has served as the principal of Catto since 2009. He previously worked as the principal of Creative Arts High School and vice principal of Henry L. Bonsall Family School. 

 

Principal Dixon began his career as an elementary school teacher, leading grades 2-6 in the Camden City School District. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from Holy Cross College and a master’s of education in school leadership from Wilmington University. Principal Dixon has one son.
